
My Approach to Health Coaching
As your coach, I will help you to build self awareness, confidence, and the ability to get out of your own way and step into a lifestyle that prioritizes your own health and wellness.
What could be more important?
At its essence, health and wellness coaching is about behavior change. Specifically, it is about changing health-related behaviors in order to achieve better lifestyle habits today and for the rest of your life.
How does it work? Think of it like this: your trainer tells you what exercises to do. As a health coach, I make sure you get to the gym in the first place.
Together, we will:
discover and articulate your personal ideal vision of health and wellness;
tap into your motivations for change;
address ambivalence you may have around making healthy lifestyle changes;
create doable strategies for incremental change;
plan your way around obstacles and challenges that may get in your way;
set parameters for accountability; and
learn how to accept setbacks and see them as opportunities for growth and change.
Whether we work together one-on-one or in a group setting, this unique process will be driven by your goals, focused on your needs, results-oriented, science-backed, and evidence based.

Each of us deserves to feel healthy, energetic, at home in our own bodies, and present, regardless of our age. As your coach, I guide you to where you want to go. The agenda for moving forward is always yours, not mine.

I will be with you as your health journey co-pilot, accountability partner, strategy collaborator, brainstorming ally, and the person helping you to spot and plan for the obstacles in your way. Together we will focus on what your next right step is.

Why Chapter 3?
I think about life in terms of chapters. If you are a woman over 40, Chapter 3 is the time in your life starting from today – when you have decided to prioritize your health and wellness and commit to it – through the rest of your life.
Chapter 3 could make up over ⅓ of your life!! This is a long chapter. Its outcome is up to you.
Let me break it down:
Chapter 1 was your childhood and adolescence, where the adults in your life - parents/guardians - made virtually all of the decisions regarding your health and wellness. Tastes, attitudes, and habits (good and not so good) were formed and may still influence how you live as an adult.
Chapter 2 was your adult life up until now. You’ve been making choices regarding food, exercise, sleep, and stress management. You may have continued what you learned in Chapter 1, or you may have struck out in new directions, for better or for worse. All that + career, family, friends, community = devoting mental and physical energy often to others, often at the expense of your own needs.
Chapter 3 starts today - if you are ready to commit. Whether that means re-connecting to a former active, healthy lifestyle or taking up healthy habits for then first time, you know you need to make changes. It’s not selfish, it’s simply time to do what you need so that you can be healthy, happy, and well. Chapter 3 is the time to put yourself back on your To-Do list. You deserve it!
